The capital market infrastructure operator Axiology and the financial brokerage firm "Kapitalo Srautai" have signed an agreement to introduce a new product to the Lithuanian financial market –securities accounting system based on distributed ledger technology (DLT). The system will enable the management of private limited liability company (UAB) share registers.

For Axiology, the product marks the first step towards launching a broader financial market infrastructure – a DLT-based securities trading and settlement system. This system, designed for securities custody, trading, settlement, and brokerage operations, will operate under the EU's pilot regime for market infrastructures based on DLT.

In a decentralised system, all participants have access to the same continuously synchronised information, which significantly enhances system transparency. These features streamline transaction recording, verification, and auditing in the new "Axiology" accounting system while reducing the risk of errors.
